Bye bye story

We have been reading to Jacob since he was born.  It's a daily thing around here and considering he has over 200 books on his librarything account that makes a lot of sense that he will eventually start reading on his own.  He started on the way home from Thanksgiving asking for specific books and telling us the story as he "reads" them.  It's amazing to see and watch his love of books blossom.  Something that has us astounded he just recently picked up this week.  We are amazed watching him read and love listening to his stories "Hello mouse, doing? Oh I see. Pick strawberry?!?  BOOM BOOM bear" and so on.  It just gives my heart warm fuzzies to see.

His newest reading trick is what he does after he has finished reading the stories.  He gets to the end (or we do if we are reading to him) and then he turns the pages back one by one telling each page and picture "Bye-bye!"

We love watching him say goodbye to his stories.  It's exciting for us to watch him grow and learn and to see him developing new concepts and ideas. Pretty neat that he knows that we go forward to read the story....so backward to say goodbye. :)
