Today was the BEST ever! The field trip was awesome. We get there and they have a line of kids. Everything went like clockwork. You could tell they had this down to a science.
Step one. Wash Hands.
Step two. Get new t-shirt that says "I baked cookies at Nana's Bakery." with a cute little cake on it.
Step three. Climb up on five gallon bucket of cookie dough so you can reach the counter.
Step four. Explore the cookie cutters, miniature rolling pins and piles of flour awaiting you.
Step five. Look amazingly overjoyed when handed a big chunk of sugar cookie dough.
Step six. Roll dough into a ball and then flatten with miniature rolling pin.
Step seven. Find cookie cutters and make tons of cookies (we made 12)
Step eight. Put your name on parchment paper and gently place your cookies on it.
Step nine. Give the awesome bakery people your cookies, cookie cutters, miniature rolling pin and watch them clean up the table.
Step ten. While cookies are baking receive a second cookie sheet covered in parchment paper and write your name on it.
Step eleven. Receive a giant glob of chocolate chip cookie dough and m&m cookie dough.
Step twelve. Tear glob into small handfuls and roll into tiny balls.
Step thirteen. Give awesome bakery people second tray of cookies to be baked (we made 26 bite sized cookies).
Step thirteen. While second batch of cookies are baking, receive first parchment of cookies and tubs of decorations and pink and white icing.
Step fourteen. PLAY and decorate. Ice cookies, dump sprinkles everywhere, make fun neat cookies.
Step fifteen. Eat one cookie (just one it's before lunch)
Step sixteen Receive take home box already packed with your chocolate chip and M&M cookies.
Step seventeen. Put your sugar cookies carefully on top.
Step eighteen. Thank the awesome bakery people.
Step nineteen. Thank the awesome library lady for having the story time field trip.
Step twenty Go home with a big box of cookies and a new t shirt and don't worry about the big mess left behind.
It was awesome. So awesome that the kids were begging for a nap as soon as we got home. Ahhhh sweet sweet day!
