Cake and games and tons to do
Celebrate with us as Jacob turns 2!!
The cake was amazing! It was a creation of the family owned bakery Tasteful Cakes who also made our wedding cake. We contacted Sandra Boynton who gave us permission to use her Birthday Monsters on the cake. The cake had 5 three-dimensional monsters surrounding a blonde haired boy about to blow out 2 candles on a cake.
Jacob attacked one whole monster after he blew and blew and I helped him get the candles out. It was amazing!!
We had the sand/water table out and it was a hit until the sand throwing got a little out of hand. There was a lot of playing and chasing and running and giggling and laughing.
The thank-you gift bags each had the book Birthday Monsters and a bottle of bubbles. It was in a brown paper lunch bag that we had drawn monster faces on as puppets. The book was inside the puppets head and the bubbles were rolled up behind it so the monsters all stood up. They were a BIG hit!!
We had one game where we had drawn in washable markers super big monsters on craft paper and taped them up all over the balcony. The kids took spray bottles and sprayed the monsters until they melted! It was a hoot to watch and other than a few kids holding the bottles backwards so they sprayed themselves in the face it went really well!
There were fun presents and then a NICE long nap! It was the perfect day. I'm definitely getting my practice in for throwing birthday parties that the kids will remember!
