Did you see her this morning?
She came in just before the service started.
She sat in the back row, quietly and alone.
You chatted with your friends, waiting for the service to begin.
The pastor got up and welcomed everyone to the service and worship songs were sung.
A time was given to greet those around you.
One woman said hello in passing while continuing a conversation with the person standing next to her.
More songs were sung, and a sermon was presented.
The message was relevant and had points that are clear and admirable.
At the end of the service, everyone got up and filed out of the sanctuary, a luncheon was to be served in the fellowship hall.
Did you see her as you filed out of the sanctuary laughing and talking to friends?
Did you see the girl sitting alone?
She was there because she was hurting and alone.
She sat there, alone afraid and searching.
She was searching for a reason to continue life in this world.
She was alone and fearing that her life was meaningless.
You walked by her, a soul who was searching and left her there alone.
Where...where can someone go to find Jesus being real if sitting in a church, His people walk right past those who need them most?
Did you see her this morning as you 'worshipped' your God?
I hesitate to call what you do at church worship...Read John Chapter 4. Do you feel you are a 'true worshiper' that Christ describes here?
Did you notice in her eyes the pain and the fear?
Did you take the 5 minutes it would take to make her feel welcome and like she mattered?
She walked outside to your 'luncheon' searching. She sat down on a bench watching. Alone. Afriad. You all walked past her. No one said hello.
To those of you who go to church. Let your pride down.
I am ashamed that you call yourselves Christians, and walk right past those who need the truths that you have. I am ashamed and afraid for you. You will be held accountable you know for your choices and your actions. Are you proud of the choices you have made?
I believe in a great God. One who loves all and will comfort those who are hurting. I believe in a loving God. One who will reach out and bring all those to Him. I believe in a caring God. One who desires all to not feel the pains of loneliness and fear, but the joy and comfort of His love.
Sometimes knowing the truth is just not enough, you want to see it and to feel it.
