It's Valentine's Day. A day to celebrate Love. So I want to tell you a love story. It is truly the greatest of all time.
Once upon a time in a land not so far away. There was a young girl. She was lonely and afraid. Her parents loved her and bestowed great gifts to her, but it did not quench her fear. She knew what love was from the examples of those around her, but the love she saw on a daily basis was imperfect love. It was tainted with human needs, desires and fears. The love of her parents was shown through yelling and unhappiness. There was no doubt that they loved each other, but as time progressed, they stopped making that choice to love. Daily things wedged between them until there was no love left. She watched her older sister, the one who was always there when the screaming and fear took over. She watched as she 'loved' many men and was never satisfied, never truly loved in return. She watched as her baby sister followed that same path and she created in her mind an idea of what love was. One day she found a young man who adored her, she saw something in him that she had never seen before. She had been scarred by the choices of those around her, but she tried to open up to him. She let him hold her, comfort her and kiss her. They were far apart and knew that to be together they would have to do something, so one day while walking though a field of flowers, he bent down to pick one. As he raised the anemone to her, on the stem he had slipped a diamond ring. "Will you?" he asked. Without knowing exactly what it entailed or what was on the road to come she said "yes". They began a new life, a new beginning but it was rocky from the start. The girl had seen love in yelling and anger, and the boy had also seen an imperfect love. The life they had began crumbling around them soon after it began. One day the girl realized that this 'love' that they had was not love. She began searching for true love. She found it. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13. There is a perfect amazing love that all can have. It is missing the imperfections of this world. Jesus came into the world to show us what real love truly is. He came to seek and save the lost. I once was lost, but now I am found. Praise God for giving me this amazing love.
You are my King
I'm forgiven because You were forsaken
I'm accepted, You were condemned
I'm alive and well,Your Spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again
Amazing love, how can it be
That You, my King, should die for me?
Amazing love, I know it's true
It's my joy to honor You
In all I do, to honor You
You are my King
You are my King
Jesus, You are my King
You are my King
